I am a mom of two sons, mostly grown up, although they never really grow up all the way. I am also a wife to a wonderful man I’ve been with for more than 10 years. We love the country life even as our rural area becomes less and less rural around us but thankfully we are surrounded by 17 acres of family land with trees. We have dogs and cats and chickens. We love to fish in the marshes and rivers here in southeast Louisiana. We enjoy simple things like having coffee with family or sitting on the back deck for a chat. Once a year for 6 weekends we let our hair down and enjoy working and playing at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival.
I love and have loved all types of fiber arts and hobbies. Some I can do very well and some I can do well enough. Those things include crocheting, card weaving, kumihimo, cord making on a lucet, sewing, canning and preserving, jelly making, playing ukulele, singing, ham radio, playing Scrabble online, cross stitching, tole painting, and now blog writing.
I’ve lived in Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, and England, but I’ve only ever called one place home – Louisiana. My heart is and always be right here in this one little community that I’ve loved for over 40 years.
